Eid-el Kabir: Prof. Ibe Felicitates With Muslims, Preaches Humility

Eid-el Kabir: The Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe has charged Muslim faithful in Abia and across the country to imbibe the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim, which he says exemplifies humility and sacrifice.

Prof. Ibe in a statement issued on Thursday to Muslims and obtained by ABN TV to congratulate them at this year’s Sallah urged them to use the opportunity of the Eid-el Kabir to further intercede for the country especially at this period of COVID-19 pandemic.

The education entrepreneur through the Deputy Registrar and Head Media & Public Relations Sleek Ogbonnaya Ogwo advised Muslims to always take a cue from the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishaq in obedience to Allah.

As you join the rest of the global Muslim Ummah in commemorating the Eid-el Kabir festival, I enjoin you to be guided by the sacrificial love, dedication and passion exemplified by the willing disposition of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishaq in absolute trust and obedience to Allah, in shunning all mundane desires while interceding for divine solutions to the global challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic he said.

ABN TV had reported that the federal government had declared Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July public holidays to enable Muslims in the country join in the celebration of the annual Id el Kabir festival.
